Patricia Haskel Freund
As founder & resident of Songbird Voice Studios, Patricia brings not only a wealth of professional theatrical experience to her live long passion of singing and performing. Her earliest memories are of singing and dancing in front of anyone who would listen. Her love for music fueled her throughout her younger years, followed by 25 years of voice, theater and dance study. Trish attended Northwestern University’s School of Speech for two and half years and then graduated from the Acting Program at Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, studying at The Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute. During and after her years at school she studied voice and acting independently from such well known NYC and Los Angeles, CA teachers as: Dee Marquit, Deborah Lapidus, Colin Romoff, Larry Moss, Craig Carnelia, Joanna Gleason and many other noted artists.
Patricia has also studied Opera at the Scola dei Musica di Fiesole, in Italia and furthered her study with noted opera teachers Franco Pagliazzi and Sarina Raussa in Florence, Italy.
Patricia performed in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles theaters and many others stages around the country. Her most memorable roles were in touring productions of ‘Pump Boys and Dinnettes’ as Rhetta Cupp, and ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ as both daughters Hodel and Tzeitel. She has performed in cabaret rooms in NYC, Chicago, Los Angeles, Rome and Florence. She also spent two summers on the Cabaret Stage at the famous Williamstown Theater Festival in Williamstown, MA.
Patricia started teaching voice at Bernstein School of Musical Theater in Bologna, Italy. She loved it from the first moment, being able to share and inspire with her years of professional experience. She then began privately coaching in Florence, Italy and then in Regensburg and Hamburg, Germany during her years abroad. She is now on staff as the Voice Teacher at Del Mar Ballet, in Sorrento Valley.
